Garden Kid Tv
Welcome! You have just entered gardenkidtv.com! A place for fun tips on living and playing Green. Garden Kid TV is made by a kid for kids, no grown ups allowed (well, not really, just sounds cool). Check out the videos, games and even a cartoon, and share with everyone to help them get a little greener too. Hopefully I will be able to expand this site with lots more fun stuff for kids who want to help save the planet from the problems of climate change and help their parents save some money too. Be sure to visit and comment on my blog, which is full of anime and other tween fun.
My Blog
Growing veggies
Growing veggies is not as hard as you think, even if you are only 8, 9 or 10 years old you can plant something tasty. I love growing cucumbers, carrots, and raspberries. They’re my top three favorite veggies to eat. All you need is a pot and some seeds. Then you can start your own garden. In no time at all you could have your own fresh food. For me, the best part of having a garden is picking fresh cucumbers right off the vine. They are juicy and delicious. A really good vine can make cukes from June to October in my garden zone.
Bouquets
Bouquets are pretty and they’re fun to make and they look great in vases. Who doesn’t like pretty flowers? I know I do, and fresh flowers make great gifts for your friends and family. You can start bringing your garden in the house in many shapes and forms for pretty decorations. P.S. you have to put colors that match together or it won’t look nice.
Newspaper pots
You only need five things to make newspaper pots: Newspaper, tape, a can, and your favorite seeds and some good organic soil. After that all you have to do is water it. A newspaper pot will start to decompose in just a few weeks. You will have to put your plant in the ground or in a pot because they don’t last forever, and they don’t pollute the environment. Check out my video on how to make them yourself. You can plant them in any sort of container, from recycled coffee cans to milk containers, just about anything really.
Making salads fresh from the garden
One of the easiest things to do with your garden is making salads. You have to be patient because it takes at least 4 weeks to start getting fresh greens from your plants. All you need is lettuce, carrots, radishes and cucumber to make a great American salad. Later on you can plant more fancy stuff, like tomato and peppers, but that is up to you. Trust me a fresh veggie actually tastes good, so don’t worry you will be Grubbin in the Garden in no time). Just put your freshly harvested goodies in a bowl and you will have a salad. So instead of eating some chips or junk food: eat a salad grown by you in your own home. Sometimes we grow so much at my house I sell it to my neighbors for some pocket money! Can anybody say shopping?
